Jake comes from a hard-working, blue-collar family, where he was taught the value of hard work and sacrifice from an early age. His father established a strong work ethic by involving him in industrial construction at just 14. Jake understood that this wasn’t his lifelong path, yet the enduring values of showing up every day and taking pride in what you do, stuck with him throughout his life. In college, Jake met a friend who introduced him to financial services and after obtaining a bachelor’s degree in finance & accounting, he jumped right in to the finance industry with a job at a big corporate box firm.
Jake was not impressed and found that these companies just wanted to gather clients’ money and charge a fee. They didn’t focus on helping people truly prepare for making that transition from going to work everyday earning a paycheck to preparing for what to do when those paychecks stop, and retirement begins.
Luke always had a passion for hard work and earning your keep. Luke felt that it was his duty to give back, so he decided after graduating from Towson University to join the Marine Corps. He was commissioned as an Officer and spent four years on active duty leading various teams across numerous leadership positions. Having really enjoyed his time in service, Luke decided to continue his service in the Military Reserves (where he currently serves as a Major).
After leaving active-duty service Luke went to work on Wall Street, starting off his financial services career in the Corporate and Investment bank of J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. Luke spent five years working closely with his clients to develop and implement numerous strategies to improve his client’s financial position. Following his time at J.P. Morgan Chase Luke accept a position as a Vice President at Citibank N.A. After spending time at these large firms Luke found that the focus became less on the client and more on internal metrics. Luke made the decision to leave the hustle and bustle of a Wall Street Bank and join his brother Jake at Copper Creek Financial to prioritize clients and their needs.
Luke holds two degrees; he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from University of Maryland Global Campus and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology & Anthropology from Towson University. Before joining Copper Creek Financial, Christian spent nearly a decade as a real estate agent in and around Washington, D.C., helping people navigate what was often the largest purchase of their lives. During this time, he noticed a constant pattern: client would frequently ask, “How is the market?” or “Is now a good time to buy?” Christian’s response was invariably, “It depends.” This client-centered approach made Christian’s transition to Copper Creek Financial seamless. As a University of Maryland graduate and an RICP® (Retirement Income Certified Professional®), Christian is on a mission to understand what matters most to his clients and explore all potential pathways to help them achieve their goals. Much like the home-buying process, Christian believes that with careful planning and a level of protection against downside risk, there’s always an opportunity to move forward-whether it’s buying a new home or taking charge of your financial future. In his free time, Christian is very family-centric and has multiple hobbies that include all things food, fitness, cars, watches, and travel!
